This past month, I have been strengthened and encouraged in Isaiah 43. Let me share a couple verses with you now:
“But now thus says the Lord, he who create you O Jacob, he who formed you O Israel, ‘Fear not, for I have REDEEMED you; I have CALLED you by name, you are MINE'” (vs. 1) — This verse especially talks about that God has called us; he called you and me by our name. He has redeemed us and now we can be called his children!
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you” (vs. 2) — God promises that he will always be with us in whatever we are going through and he will help us through those times by holding us up (think of Footprints poem).
“Because you are PRECIOUS in my eyes, and HONORED, and I LOVE YOU” (vs. 4) — Doesn’t this verse just make your heart melt?! We are precious and honored in God’s eyes. We don’t need to seek the approval of man, instead, let God’s love overwhelm us and make our hearts full.
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (vs. 18-19) — Our past helps make us who we are today, but why do we always recall it? Instead, we should dwell in the present and see all the wonders that God is performing in our lives right now! A way in the wilderness and a river in the desert? Isn’t that just astounding? A desert is a dry wasteland, how can a river thrive there? God can make anything happen, including a river in a desert.
“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins” (vs. 25) –Isn’t this so powerful? God forgives our sins and then he whips them from his mind! Why should we always recall our sins, when God completely obliterates them?
These are just some of the promises that I found in this chapter but I’m sure there are plenty more! I hope you were encouraged by these as well!
What are some of the promises of God that really encourage you in to day-to-day walk with Jesus? Often identifying them helps us remember them and grow closer to Him in the process.
Have a wonderful day reveling in His promises!
