Seasons of Life

September 24th, 2015

Seasons in LifeWith the first day of fall being yesterday, it is always wonderful when we can actually “see” the change in the season. The weather becomes a bit chillier and people pull out their light jackets. Hot teas and coffees become a must for early work days. The leaves are starting to turn color.

Yes, I love fall.

But as we also see the seasons changing, it is neat to witness the different seasons of life. Right now, I am in the college/work season while my youngest cousin is just starting preschool. Amazing how the time flies by!!

But whatever season in life we are in, we should begin to look for ways in which God can use us.

Like David. He was only a shepherd boy when God called him to defeat Goliath. David didn’t stand around and say that he was too young. Instead, he relied on his faith in God.

Or what about Moses. He was older than David when he heeded God’s voice to go deliver the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. He tried to convince God that he wasn’t the right person for the job…but God had other plans. So he followed.

Then we can read about Daniel. Daniel stood up for God in a foreign country. He didn’t back down, but instead stood strong for what he believed was right both as a teenager AND an adult.

So let us stand up for our faith in whatever season of life we are in. You never know what God has in mind…and do you really want to stand in HIS WAY and miss what wonderful things He might have in store for you?
